IMG_2569.JPGTeam 2662 - The RoboKrew, is part of the national US FIRST Robotics Competition.  The purpose of the competition is to team high school students with engineers and teach the students about engineering and technology.  The teams are given a task where each team has six weeks to design, test, and build a robot to complete the task.  The team competes with other schools across the country and is eligible to win multiple awards. This is the third year we will compete.  During our first year we made it to the regional semi-finals.

US FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) is a non-profit organization designed to involve students in science, math and technology.  Many participants go on to high level careers in these fields.  Regional Competitions are held all over the US and in Canada. This year we are planning to compete in the regional competition in Phoenix and possibly the National Competition.  For more information go to http://www.usfirst.org

Robo Krew is also a junior chapter of the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers. This organization provides mentors and funding to our chapter.  They also provide college, financial aid and scholarship opportunities for our students. For more information go to http://www.shpe.org/
